SQL Server 2005 Integration Services (SSIS) introduces two new tools designed for Data Warehousing, but their uses are far more than just warehousing. Fuzzy Lookups and Fuzzy Grouping can both improve quality of data. Fuzzy lookups is designed to correct errors in lookup tables such as misspelling in cities or states. Fuzzy grouping finds duplicates in datasets.

Fantastic article on a great new offering in MS SQL 2005 via SSIS. However I have need for this type of matching outside of SSIS. SSIS isn't easy to tie into a webpage for on demand matching of one item against a database, but that is exactly what I need. Anyone have any experience with this new fuzzy match?
