ESPN.com has released an offseason MLB power poll and has picked the Cleveland Indians as the team to beat in '06... Forgive me if I'm not doing backflips, but I seem to recall hearing that same prediction just before they lost 100 games...

You are correct sir.  1987, Indians grace the cover of SI as the team to beat in the MLB, I believe it was Brook Jacoby and Julio Franco, or maybe Joe Carter.  They self destructed and went on to lose either 100 or jsut over, finishing dead last in MLB.  I attended a game that season where I was a lucky one fan of the roughly 4,500 people in attendance.  Remember, capacity at Municipal Stadium at that time was about 80,000.  Ugh, those were the days.
