ESPN.com has released an offseason MLB power poll and has picked the Cleveland Indians as the team to beat in '06...
Forgive me if I'm not doing backflips, but I seem to recall hearing that same prediction just before they lost 100 games... |

| You are correct sir. 1987, Indians grace the cover of SI as the team to beat in the MLB, I believe it was Brook Jacoby and Julio Franco, or maybe Joe Carter. They self destructed and went on to lose either 100 or jsut over, finishing dead last in MLB. I attended a game that season where I was a lucky one fan of the roughly 4,500 people in attendance. Remember, capacity at Municipal Stadium at that time was about 80,000. Ugh, those were the days. |

Actually, it was Cory Snyder and Joe Carter. Man, what a rocket arm Cory Snyder had... |
