Bull Cartoons and Crack

I've realized recently that the Bull cartoons I used to host on this site were the Shiny Donkey equivalent to crack cocaine. They provided a brief thrill, they weren't particularly good for you and they kept people coming back day after day. In the spirit of forming addictions, I'd really like to create a new daily update to Shiny D but I'm not quite sure where to start. All of my best work tends to come at someone else's expense, like the Bull jokes. Since Bull massively disses this site by never posting anything, perhaps those should come back? None of the other characters seem strong enough to go out on their own. I mean, would anyone in their right mind really want to see Jimmy the Used Condom in a hilarious office drama? Or Stan the Carrot host a cooking show?
Mayhap it's time for Marc & I to resurrect a few AWP characters for just such a feature... |

It's been a long time since I've posted here. I've been waiting for something to be post-worthy and that time is now at hand! It's odd, but this morning I was thinking about SD.com and the fact that I miss semi-weekly cartoon posts (they don't even have to be Bull-related). I was going to suggest that you create a brand new character.
My name is Nate and I approve this message. |

I would totally come every day to see a new character, like for example "Douchebag Nate and his hilarious office tomfoolery," or maybe "Arranged Marriage Nar, his parents will wine you and dine you and hand you off to him when you least expect it." Or maybe something that is even based in reality, like "Big Schlong Billy and his multiple personalities." Jerry, whatever you draw I will come every day to look at... well, I already come to SD.com every day, so I guess there is no real reason to cater to me for more traffic.

All that and not a single slugline reference. I'm impressed, Alex.
I think branching out with the real-life-based characters could
work. Maybe not even as they were represented in the Bull comics,
but in the same vein. I guess the problem is the loss of regular
contact with the personalities that are recognizable on this site.

If you've never seen it, I think Real Life Comics is a good example of
using real life friends for a comic. It is, however, far less
prone to hyperbole than Bull of the Day is/was.

| hyperbole = solid gold jokery for Bull of the Day. |

Right. Hyperbole rocks. Just saying that they don't use it. :)
You should have known that talking about cats and Bull on here would significantly increase usage. ;)
