ALLERCA is "developing" the world's first hypo-allergenic cat, expected sometime in 2007. "Developing????" WTF does that mean? Cats are like a new car or ham radio and can just be rolled off the assembly line? Blech. This may be a joy for the next generation but to me it sounds fiendish.

I know it sounds bad. But I would love to have a cat, and that is just not going to happen until the cat in question has no chance of causing my wife to go into anaphylactic shock. The thought of a kitty running around my house annoying my dog makes me smile. I think that bioengineering is going to be part of our future ... so they might as well do something useful with it.
