| Mark Polydoris just moved to San Diego and already has a new band, Duck Duck Cheetah. One of the three tracks they've posted, There & Back Again, is definitely worth a listen -- sounds like Ben Folds meets Hoobastank. Oddly enough, I don't really like either of those bands but the song is great. Anyone in San Diego on October 26 can see them at Blind Melon's. Not sure how that show will be since they're a two man set, so they will probably be w/o a guitarist & drummer... but perhaps Mark can explain. |

Christ, what do you want me to explain!?! It's a song.
My band right now in SD is guitar/vocals (me) and bass/vocals (nick). Our drums are tracked through an eight-track digital recorder, and in my opinion, I think they sound pretty real. It's kind of nice because when we practice or perform, we literally run the drums off an Ipod connected to the PA. The good news is that the drummer is never late to practice, doesn't complain, and never, ever misses a beat. The bad news is he's a machine, and occasionally plays like one.
The songs that we've recorded were done with my digital eight-track (which is where the drummer lives) and so there essentially "amatuer" recordings. We're looking for feedback as to which people like best, if any or all.
