Does anyone else remember Sledge Hammer!, a comedy/cop drama from the mid-80s? It lasted all of 2 seasons and (like Family Guy) was always getting shuffled around in the schedule. When I was younger, this and Hunter are the two shows I'd always beg to watch, though I usually wasn't allowed to because of all the guns.
The show centers around Sledge, a cop who plays by his own rules and talks to his gun like it's a person. David Rasche is fantastic in this role. He brings just the right blend of tough guy/idiot/right-wing-extremism that somehow makes the character so likeable.
They've just released the complete Season One DVD set and so far I've watched the first 5 episodes, which have more than met my expectations. And 22 episodes for $29 bucks made it worth taking the risk. |

| Yup. I remember that show although I seem to remember it being a parody of Hunter so it makes sense that you would want to watch both. I used to ask to watch A-Team, Knight Rider, and V. I always asked to watch wrestling, but I was always told it was fake. Ha! Just goes to show what parents know. |

| Of course the difference is that Sledge Hammer! was a parody. |

| Seriously. Jerry, I think you would love Adult Swim on Cartoon Network. So far CN has hooked me on Family Guy, Futurama, Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law. If you can believe it, Futurama is possibly the least funny of all those that I just listed. |
