Speaking of bands that need hype...has anyone checked out Phantom Planet? I bought their latest cd because it was bundled with their first cd and my decision was based on the strength of one of their songs from the first album. At $9.99 that was a tremendous deal.
The first album is more mellow than the second and reminds me of bands like Travis. The second album is more raw and reminds me of bands like The Red Stripes, Jet and; believe it or not; The Bends-ish-era Radiohead.
I'll check out FF in the near future but for now I need to change my playlist over to Phantom Planet. |
