How do you pronounce Daemon??? |
It's pronounced 'DEE-mon,' just like the English 'demon' The Greek term originally refered to an intermediary spirit between the gods and mankind, whether that spirit was malignant or benevolent. It's meaning later shifted to mean a malevolent spirit, while the term 'angelos' (messenger) was ascribed to the divine spirits.
'Day-mon' is the mispronunciation I hear most often, and, oddly, 'ay' is one of the few ways 'æ' is not pronounced. You can pronounce it like 'EE' (as in |

FINALLY! I'm glad some others share the same opinion as me. I share the same conclusion as many others here :
Sharepoint is great if you are going to use it OUT OF THE BOX ONLY, otherwise SHAREPOINT IS A PIECE OF GARBAGE
THE OBJECT MODEL IS THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE
The object model has countless nuances to work around even for doing simple tasks. There are 3000 poorly named variables for each object. Half of them don't work as you'd expect so you find yourself either |

Mike, not only do you not know how to hit the 'Add Message' button once, it is clear you are only a code monkey. Your need for wizards to accomplish something is laughable.
Developing in SharePoint has saved me countless hours and our company an untold fortune. The security object model would easily take months for a small development team to create in a standalone application.

Boulevard of Broken Dreams vs. Wonderwall Mashup |
I wanted a nice album cover thumbnail for the 'Oasis vs. Green Day' mashup of Wonderwall vs. Boulevard of Broken Dreams ('Boulevard of Broken Songs'). A quick search for some nifty album art turned up nothing, so I through together this image. It may be a bit late to the game considering this mashup is 3 years old, but I'll be damned if a track was going to go without cover art in my iTunes library!
If you haven't heard the mashup and are a fan of either of these bands, I highly |

I could not agree more with the comments on this board. I commend Microsoft for their progress with development tools, C# and Visual Studio are awesome and get better with each version. I've been developing for 15 years and struggled through the DLL hell era with VB, C++ and almost killed myself. Then came C# and Visual Studio 2003. Got better w/ VS2005 and almost Nirvana w/ VS 2008 (minus some SSRS quirks). Ahh, this is how it should be. Now enter SharePoint. Holy ****, |

Generation Kill |
There is a mini series that is currently airing on HBO called 'Generation Kill' http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0995832/ This is a great series thus far, and I highly recommend it. The story feels very realistic, action is great, and dialogue/personalities are about spot on according to various military friends of mine. But beyond all of that, I want to post here just to point out the best character in the show. The Iraqi translator who is in the Marines' unit. I think |

I am totally late to the party, but...
This video is awesome. I think the coolest thing to note is the fact that all of the participants are the actual people in the youtube videos, I'm pretty sute the fat kid is actually the Star Wars Kid. It is too bad they didn't actually get Tron Guy to do anything.
Southpark (I trust you've already seen it) had a great episode earlier this year doing the same.

Optimizing a Web site for Google's crawler |
Thanks for the feedback, Doug. I've noticed that the crawler is definitely ignoring my redundant content. I think I'm going to have to strike a compromise: one thorough listing of cities & services accompanied by city pages that list only a few services. |

Optimizing a Web site for Google's crawler |
If it's similar content, you may be ok, but if it's duplicate content (or large portions are), then yes, there are specific penalties for it, namely whatever is deemed the authoritative content gets the higher rank and the rest get duplicate content penalties (or not indexed on a low-pr site). The other issue at hand is how new is that site or domain or the content. With a low page rank or new domain, Google will not index aggressively at all. The best way to get those pages indexed |
