news_20050628_01-718413.jpgOasis' new single, The Importance of Being Idle, is coming out in a few weeks, but the video is online here.  The song features Noel on vocals and I'd rate it their best single since Don't Look Back In Anger.

The video reminds me of a mix between Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow and that Elton John/Robert Downey, Jr. video, I Want Love.  It's shot in black and white with an intentional "old movie" feel to it.  And like the Elton John thing, Oasis are barely in the video at all.  The storyline features a film star from the UK leading a processional to a funeral, while Oasis members can be seen shaving or playing cards in little snippets.

I also noticed that Zak Starkey is in the video.  Does that mean he's officially part of the group now?  This needs some research...

It seems Scotty himself has finally been beamed up:

Which sucks since he was my favorite character on StarTrek.

winston.jpgrupert.jpg ...it's been awhile since I've posted anything interesting, but I wanted to let everyone know that we got a second dog!  We rescued a 1 year old mini Schnauzer named Rupert.  He's exactly 2 weeks older than Winston and they've been having non-stop fun since we picked him up a few days ago.  The cats have the same level of mild annoyance that they have with Winston, so that's working out great, too.

So what's next?  Nothing!  With 2 cats and 2 dogs, our family is definitely done expanding -- until we decide to have kids.

Yahoo! Sports Charles Robinson has a pragmatic take on the Browns' hopes this season:

It's hard to gauge at this point – especially without knowing the injury factor that inevitably will sweep the league – but the Browns have to be the favorite to finish with the worst record in the NFL in 2005. Aside from having the league's most brutal schedule next season, word has gotten out from the offseason programs that a successful defensive adjustment (both in talent and picking up the 3-4 scheme) is going to be a process of years, not months.

While there are pieces to build upon, the Browns may be looking at sweeping out 90 percent of the 2004 roster by the end of the 2006 offseason. One area that doesn't bode well for the next two seasons is quarterback. The early plan is to have Trent Dilfer and Doug Johnson 1-2 on the depth chart in 2005, then move rookie Charlie Frye up to the No. 2 spot in 2006 before taking over in 2007.

So in lieu of that exciting analysis... Go Tribe!!!

Why would

break things?

Microsoft use this convention within the FCL where they have properties with the same name and type.

Share point sucks ****. It is confusing, the documentation is little or absent. However, all the higher ups at my corperation have accepted it with open arms because the consultants told them too. The consultants are now getting paid 60 dollars an hour to teach it. I hate share point.
